Re: [Harp-L] Stolen Gear

My band goes to gigs, even the local ones, in my old 24 ft. Tioga motorhome.ÂWe can fit all our gear in itÂeasily and we can hang after sound check and before we play. ÂWe call it the rolling green room, and it's tons o fun to travel and hang out in. When I get it home, I ALWAYS bring my amps, harp case and mic case inside - no matter what. I live in a very safe neighborhood, but a few years ago some dimwit tweaker took some tin snips to the driver side door on my pickup truck and cut a 4" diameter hole around the door lock right outta the exterior door skin! - all to get a $25 CD player!ÂThat cost me aÂ$500 deductible to fix. After that, I don't leave anything in my cars - especially my music gear. Plus, I don't like to leave gear in the cold anyway.

anyone who steals music gear is truly a low life.

Ânow, this is good advice - even though you arrive home late at night tired from the gig, it makes sense to push your envelope and carry that stuff in the house.

I've never parked
my gear in a car overnight since then. Â

Brian, sorry to hear of this. ÂRob's suggestions sound very good.

In 1979, I lost a modified Fender Super Reverb, a killer amp by any standard,
when it was stolen from a parked van in the driveway of a bandmate in Sagamore,
Massachusetts. ÂIn other words, very similar circumstances. ÂI've never parked
my gear in a car overnight since then. Â
